This fungus had a greyish brown cap-surface, a large chunk taken out of it to reveal light pale yellow, spongy flesh, covered to some extent in brownish-red cracks.

The stem was pale yellow with a few orange-brown lines, and the base was a furry white.

The base also bruised blue-green, confirming the identification.
