Day 16 – 18 November 2023
This was an odd find — at first glance, it looked a little like a morel species, but upon closer inspection the fuscous, moist cap had what looked like “veins” running down it.
I saw a similar-looking fungus on Day 15.
EDIT 19/10/25
I’ve identified this as a juvenile Pluteus umbrosus, after seeing one at a fungi foray.
This would explain its distinctive wrinkly cap, which had not yet expanded.
