Found on the underside of a large fallen branch, these light-ash-grey fungi grew in a group, sometimes clustered.
They had no discernible scent.

Phleogena faginea are supposed to smell like curry, hence their common name “Fenugreek Fungus”.
At the time, I remember thinking they just looked different from the P. faginea I had seen before.
