These grew out of a crack in a rotting log in a tightly clustered group.

They had wine-red, conical caps, but the stems were a little lighter in colour.

On Day 13 (28 October 2023), they had grown larger, with conical, cream caps and light brownish red apexes.

They had no distinctive scent and had reddish, clustered stems.
