Just before The Outpost and to the west of the path, this bright scarlet fungus had cream to apricot-orange flesh and a cream stem.
It grew out of a rotting branch.

The next day, its scarlet colour had faded to a dark apricot-orange, and the cap had widened slightly.

On Day 10 (08 October 2023), it had paled and shrivelled, but grown generally larger.
