Lachnum virgineum

DATE FOUND:

Day 21 – 24 December 2023

I found these tiny white cups on rotting wood.

They had yellowish buff inner surfaces and in-curled edges with bobbly outer surfaces.

Most had a small white stem.

EDIT 20 April 2024

For some reason I had decided these were Eupezizella roseoguttata, an obscure species which has very little information online.

I recently realised these actually have a stalk, so are likely to be common Lachnum virgineum (or similar, as many cup species require microscopic examination to identify).
