LOCATION:

Yew Grove Area

DATE FOUND:

Day 1 – 12 August 2023

These grew in a very large group on leaf litter, near birches.

With a white caps, these fungi had dipped, buff apexes and blackened, wavy edges.

Others had varying shades of brownish-red caps.

The stems were twisted and reddish-brown.

The gills were brownish-red, and many were inhabited with bugs.

By Day 4 (26 August 2023), most of these had turned cream — perhaps dried out.

On Day 5 (03 Septembr 2023), I noticed they had a faint scent.
