LOCATION:

Fen Trail Turnoff

DATE FOUND:

Day 5 – 03 September 2023

Found in foliage to the side of the path, this had light, flesh-pink cap, fading to white near the centre.

It had a large white stem and no smell, with white to light pinkish gills.

As fungus is a rare find in Britain, I am hesitant to identify it for certain, especially without microscopy.

According to the Fungi of Temperate Europe [Thomas Laessoe and Jens H. Petersen], it is very similar to Gerhardtia incarnatobrunnea, but all the images of this fungus online are dark brown, not pale pink.
