I found this troop in leaf litter on damp soil.

They were very variable in size, shape and colour.

Some had white, shaggy caps with brown apexes and fibrous, brown and white stems.

Others had smoother, mottled sepia caps.

The gills were regular and off white.

The stems were hollow and flesh cream, the caps darkening to brown.
