In leaf litter or upon soil, with mixed deciduous trees, perhaps specifically oak.
Found under oak, though not attached, this dried up specimen, had a yellow base stem, covered with a rhubarb-like red streak pattern.
The flesh was pink-edged yellow, as were the pores and the top of the cap was bolete-brown, vaguely cracked or bitten.
Latter, these were found all throughout the area, often alone or in a pair in leaf litter.
