LOCATION:

Strumpshaw Fen

DATE FOUND:

This was found at a place where Coprinus comatus regularly appears, this year a small cluster of about three.

They had scaly white stems, going cream at the top, and a white cap fading to black at the inrolled rim.

The shape of the cap was conical and had many scales, and where water droplets fell on it, they took up the colour of the ink.
